I am pretty well padded so the tattoo over my left shoulder blade wasn’t much of a problem, but I really wanted to crawl off the table both times my ankle was worked on. Thanks for sharing your lovely article.

Thank you so much for your advise I did not soak, pull, pick.... I just washed it twice a day and let the scabs dry up and they came off all by themselves...this tatoo was a mess it looked three dimensional with the scabs...unbelievable it came out quite nice...It will need a little touch ups but, I think all tattos do....again thanks so much...

Truthfully, I would leave it alone. The last thing you want to do is take the scabs off before the area is completely healed, and if they get soft they might rub off too soon. I know they'll drive you nuts while the healing process is going on, but it's best to wait and let nature take its course.

I was hoping you can answer this for me...I had a old tattoo re-done and unfortunatley I had a reaction with the old and new inks which created an infection...I have gone through a serious of anti-biotics and the infection is gone....but, I have multiple scabs on that tattoo, it is healing around the edges and is looking nice, but the scabs on the red areas are still large....my question is this can I soak my tat to soften up the scabs as I don't want them to get pulled off and take the ink out....BTW it is on my ankle so there is a lot of movement there...

Thanks so much
Laura
